The main component of Hochtemperatur calcium silicate is Xonotlit (6CaO·6SiO₂·H₂O), which has higher temperature resistance than oderdinary calcium silicate materials.

Each Xonotlit molecule contains only one crystal water. Auch wenn die Temperatur die Grenze überschreitet, wird nur eine geringe Menge Kristallwasser entfernt, ohne dem System ernsthaften Schaden zuzufügen.
